OpenCD is able to achieve the highest levels of network server performance and integrates seamlessly  into almost any networking environment. Based on NT technology, OpenCD offers a complete range of NOS security options from low level security Quick Start mode through MS Workgroup to MS NT Domain integration.

100% CD & DVD Compatible
Avantis CD/DVD servers are the only products on the market today that can guarantee 100% compatibility with ALL CD & DVD formats, including DVD Video, Audio CD and Video CD. This is made possible by way of Avantis' unique Multimedia Virtual Drive^TM technology, which can be used to create virtual CD/DVD drives on every workstation.

Unprecedented Performance
Access times and data transfer rates are critical concerns when sharing CD resources. OpenCD can deliver data to the network at speeds in excess of 8 Mbytes/sec and boasts the fastest possible access times. OpenCD's patented server architecture will sustain delivery of over 25 concurrent video steams!

Massive 1000 CD Capacity
OpenCD is by far the largest capacity multimedia server available today with the largest model typically accommodating a huge 1000 CDs (432 GB). Lower capacity models can be expanded simply by plugging additional drives into the spare bays.

Direct Network Attached
Avantis servers connect directly to the network and operate independently of other network servers. This means no additional traffic is generated on your file server and you can access your CD server even when other network servers are down, allowing you to maximise your network performance all round.

Simple Installation
No special client or server software is required to install OpenCD. Just plug in, connect to the network and access from any workstation within minutes. All models can be attached directly to the network and are file-server independent. An easy-to-use LCD front panel is provided for rapid initial set-up.

Simple Administration
OpenCD has a fully featured web management interface enabling remote administration from anywhere on the network or World Wide Web.

Rapid and Reliable Data Access
User access to CDs and DVDs is via familiar PC graphical interfaces: Windows Explorer, Network Neighbourhood or Web Browser. Avantis’ Multimedia Virtual DriveTM technology can also be used to create user-friendly ‘virtual’ CD/DVD drives on each workstation.
