Tandberg SDLT Tape Drives

Although recently discontinued, the SDLT600 tape drive remains a viable tape backup option, utilising a refurbished unit.  The drive offers a large 300/600Gb capacity on a single media cartridge, at a transfer rate of 36/72Mb/s. The SDLT 600 is backward compatible to the SDLT 320 and DLT VS160 tape drives.  Available as internal, external, loader and library drives.  Older variants of SDLT, the SDLT320 and SDLT220 are available as refurbished units .  The SDLT 320 is backward read compatible with DLTtape IV media and uses the same Super DLTtape I cartridges as the SDLT 220.

The SDLT600a is a product that is still available new, as a special order unit.
The A-series of tape systems were developed specifically as cost effective, easy to implement archive solutions for professional digital video environments.  With its built-in Gigabit Ethernet port and FTP server, it is easily attached to your network and is visible and accessible to every workstation using any browser.  The innovative MFX aware technology provides direct access to metadata and allows video tape-like access to subclip content by timecode. Content is stored in its native, uncompressed format and since each tape has its own file system and directory, cartridges can be shared between different applications and devices, saving money and improving productivity. Because it uses super DLTtape II, the SDLT 600A delivers a 30 year tape archive life to protect professional video, audio and data assets better than any video tape backup. Each cartridge holds 300GB of information, and, because each Super DLTtape II contains key MXF metadata in a tape-based file directory, your media is transportable and exchangeable for seamless application independence.  Part Code: TC-S34BC-EO
