Each unit is delivered with your choice of operating chip, and comes complete with the relevant number of cables and adapters (either 4 or 8).
General Information   
The OCTOBUS four and eight port multi-user serial expansion cards offer a flexible and cost effective solution to providing multiple user access to a host computer system. The OCTOBUS range provides solutions with excellent value without compromising quality or service. Up to four OCTOBUS cards may be installed into a machine, the only limiting factors being the number of expansion slots (8 or 16 bit) and the constraints of the operating system.

O/S Compatibility
The OCTOBUS cards require no individual device driver software, but instead utilise the I/O card drivers incorporated into the core operating system by the manufacturer. Many leading operating system vendors incorporate I/O card device drivers as an integral part of the operating system and as such, compatibility problems and conflict errors are kept to a minimum.

4-8 Port Upgrade Flexibility
The OCTOBUS range is uniquely flexible, in that a four port card may be upgraded to eight ports by a simple 'chip up' operation, along with the supply of 4 cables and 4 adapters, at a much lower cost than usually associated with the replacement of a complete card or the addition of a further card.

Warranty 
Both four and eight port serial cards are covered by a comprehensive lifetime guarantee. The return to base warranty covers the cards against malfunction as a result of defective manufacturing. However, damage caused by misuse, improper installation or any other 'outside factor' including electrical discharge is not covered.
