Details The Wangdat 3400 offers a 8Gb read and write data storage capacity at transfer rates of up to 2.64Gb per hour (assuming 2:1 data compression). The Wangdat 3400 DAT drive offers you unparalleled connectivity, capacity and performance for backup and archival applications. It is compatible with a wide variety of third-party software packages for many operating systems and can be used to back up networks, multi-user systems and powerful workstations. The Wangdat 3400 has read and write capability (with the correct cartridge) with previous Wangdat tape products - it can backwards read a tape created on a DDS1 drive (Wangdat 3200, 3100, 1300XL) but being a DDS2 drive it can only write to DDS2 (so the Wangdat 3200, 3100, 1300XL wouldn't be able to read the tape). The drive will write 8Gb of data on a 120metre tape, 4Gb of data on a 90metre tape and 2.6Gb of data on a 60metre tape (assuming 2:1 compression). The Wangdat 3400 utilizes proven recording technology, providing reliability, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) = 180,000 hours and is backed by a 1 year tape drive warranty. |
