DLT8000 Jumper Settings
The DLT 8000 has three configurable options that may require modification based on user requirements. These options are:
• SCSI ID (Default setting = ID 5)The following provides information on how to change these settings, refer to the drive diagrams provided to insure proper orientation.
To Set SCSI ID
Bare, Rack Mountable Drive
To change SCSI ID orient yourself to the drive as seen in figure 1-1 (drive front to your right). The SCSI ID block has 10 pins arranged in two rows of 5, top row is odd numbered and the bottom row is even. Set the ID values according to chart 1-1 by placing a jumper across the appropriate set of pins. Please note that for this block setting to register with the drive a jumper must be in place across pins 9-10.
Tabletop Drive
Use the thumb wheel switch found at the back of the drive and set the number to the ID required.
To Set Parity
Bare, Rack Mountable Drive
To change parity setting orient yourself to the drive as seen in figure
1-2 (drive front to your left). By default, the drive comes with parity checking
enabled. In order to disable parity checking, place a jumper across pins 1-2 of
the specified jumper block. To enable parity remove the jumper, if present, from
pins 1-2.
Tabletop Drive
Parity checking can only be disabled by an authorized service provider.
To Set TERMPWR
Bare, Rack Mountable Drive
To change TERMPWR orient yourself to the drive as seen in figure 1-2
(drive front to your left). Please note that it is recommended that this jumper
remain in place as all devices can provide TERMPWR. If required, to disable
TERMPWR remove the jumper across pins 3-4. To enable TERMPWR place a jumper
across pins 3-4.
