Viking Components, one of the world's largest and fastest growing manufacturers of computer memory, flash and modem products, recently announced the development of PC133 synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) modules. The modules offer a performance increase of 33 percent from the previous bus frequency of 100MHz and are available in standard capacities of 64MB and 128MB. Viking high-density PC133 SDRAM modules are in development and will soon be released in 256MB, 512MB and 1GB capacities.
Viking PC133 memory modules incorporate the latest advancements in SDRAM technology allowing customers to enjoy increased system performance at a minimal cost, extensive engineering, development and testing work with last year's PC100 standard puts Viking ahead of the demand curve with regard to PC133 products.
Viking is poised and ready to meet demand for this next-generation memory and expect volume production to begin later this month.
Viking is now shipping133MHz engineering samples to major original equipment manufacturers and are preparing to establish themselves as a leader in this new market segment.

ABOUT PC133
PC133 is a new technical standard designed to keep pace with the increasing performance of microprocessors. PC133 provides a 33% performance improvement over PC100 memory applications, allowing information between the main memory and the microprocessor to flow at 133MHz. This new PC133 standard serves as an evolutionary step between PC100 and double-data rate (DDR) SDRAMs.
Viking's PC133 modules will be available in JEDEC (Joint Electronic Device Engineering Council) registered and unbuffered x64 and x72 DIMM configurations. Viking standard capacities of 64MB and 128MB will be available in a 168-pin DIMM format, the same form factor presently used in the high-volume production of PC100 modules. Although PC133 SDRAM modules have tighter tolerances over PC100 modules, they will utilise the same manufacturing and testing processes as PC100.
